Reacting to Action News 5’s Facebook post, fans voiced deep alarm over the threat. Many expressed fear that the historic estate and its irreplaceable contents could be damaged.
“Glad they didn’t find anything. Leave Graceland alone. Let fans enjoy this beautiful home. I was there last week,” wrote one fan.
A second follower penned, “I can’t believe someone called in a bomb threat at Graceland. That’s despicable. Graceland might seem like a cash cow to some, but true Elvis fans are thrilled to be able to visit and enjoy Elvis’s legacy. It’s not much different than spending money to go anywhere else that makes people happy. It’s a privilege to get to see Elvis’s home and visit his family’s gravesite.”
“Please protect this property at all costs!!” declared a third fan of the King of Rock and Roll.
A fourth social media user concluded, “It’s heartbreaking and honestly hard to believe that there are so many hateful people in this world. That would want to destroy Graceland.”

Presley purchased Graceland in March of 1957 at the age of 22. He bought the home and adjacent grounds for $102,500 per the home’s official website.
At the time of the purchase, Presley was busy filming his second movie, Loving You, and secured the property with a $1,000 deposit. Graceland was actually the second home he bought for his parents, Vernon and Gladys Presley, following a house on Audubon Drive in East Memphis.
As his fame exploded, the unprotected Audubon residence turned into a constant gathering spot for fans, prompting the move. Therefore, Graceland, with its high brick walls and 24-hour security, became Presley’s haven where he could retreat from the public eye.

When Elvis first bought Graceland, he moved in with his parents, Vernon and Gladys, and his grandmother, Minnie Mae Presley. Over the years, several other family members called the estate home, including his aunt, Delta Presley Biggs, who lived there well after it opened for public tours until her death in 1993. Presley also shared the residence with his wife Priscilla Presley, daughter Lisa Marie Presley, girlfriend Linda Thompson, and his inner circle, famously known as “The Memphis Mafia.”
The home is currently a museum, holding priceless artifacts and original furnishings belonging to Elvis Presley. He is buried in the home’s Meditation Garden alongside his parents, Vernon and Gladys Presley, his grandmother Minnie Mae, daughter Lisa Marie Presley, and grandson Benjamin Storm Keough.
