Greg Biffle's Net Worth at the Time of His Death

18 December 20257 Mins Read

Former NASCAR driver Greg Biffledied in a plane crash on Dec. 18, 2025, at age 55, and the tragedy didn’t end with just that untimely loss.

Biffle’s wife, Cristina Grossu, daughter Emma, 14, and son Ryder, 5, also perished in the crash. The family was aboard Biffle’s Cessna C550 business jet when the pilot attempted to land the aircraft in fog at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina. Witnesses told the Associated Press that they noticed the plane was flying “way too low” shortly before it erupted into flames.

During his life, Biffle made history as one of only three drivers to ever both the Craftsman Truck Series and the Busch Series championships.

Greg Biffle’s net worth at the time of his passing reflected his accomplishments on the track, but it was his and Grossu’s generous spirits for which their loved ones say they’ll remember them most.

“I am devastated by the loss of Greg, Cristina, and their children, and my heart is with all who loved them,” North Carolina Rep. Richard Hudson, a family friend of Biffle’s, wrote on X. “They were friends who lived their lives focused on helping others. Greg was a great NASCAR champion who thrilled millions of fans. But he was an extraordinary person as well, and will be remembered for his service to others as much as for his fearlessness on the track. The last time I spoke with Cristina, just a couple of weeks ago, she reached out to ask how she could help with relief efforts in Jamaica. That’s who the Biffles were.”

Find out what Greg Biffle’s net worth was at the time of his death and the legacy he’ll leave behind.

How did Greg Biffle become famous?

Born Dec. 23, 1969, Biffle grew up in Washington state, where he began racing on local tracks in 1995. His breakout moment came in the 1995-1996 Winter Heat Series stock car races. Former NASCAR champion and ESPN announcer Ben Parsons was impressed with Biffle’s performance and recommended him to Jack Roush, founder and CEO of the Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing NASCAR team.

Biffle officially joined Roush Racing as a fulltime driver in 1998 for the Craftsman Truck Series, coming in 8th place in the overall standings and earning the NASCAR Rookie of the Year Award.

The following year, Biffle won an unprecedented nine races in the Craftsman Truck Series, a record he held until 2025. He won the 2000 Craftsman Truck Championship as well as the 2002 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship and was named the Busch Series Rookie of the Year in 2001.

Biffle continued racing and rising up the ranks until his semi-retirement in 2016, having racked up 19 NASCAR Cup wins, 20 NASCAR Xfinity Series wins, 17 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series wins. Even after he stopped racing fulltime, he kept up with the sport in other ways, including founding the Sand Outlaws Series and serving as a guest analyst on NBC Sports’ NASCAR America.

“I’m building some of those side by sides and off-road cars, and I really enjoy doing that,” he told NASCAR.com in 2021. “It’s the same mentality. Racing is racing. It’s that adrenaline, you want to be better than the competition, you want to build a better piece and have a faster car. I just enjoy the competition.”

How rich was Greg Biffle?

Biffle was reportedly worth a cool $30 million in 2025.

While the bulk of his income was from his racing days, he also invested in real estate and other ventures that proved lucrative, NASCAR noted, including an operational rock quarry and mine in Virginia and a yacht in Florida.

What are the allegations against Greg Biffle?

The Charlotte Observer reported that Biffle’s ex-wife Nicole sued him for invasion of privacy in June 2017, alleging that he installed hidden cameras in the bedrooms and bathrooms of the mansion they shared in Mooresville, N.C., without her knowledge before they separated in 2015. After their separation, Biffle moved into an apartment while Nicole remained in the mansion. She accused Biffle of filming her and her mother in the bedrooms of the property without their knowledge or consent and showing the footage to third parties.

Biffle denied any wrongdoing and claimed that Nicole knew about the cameras, which he claimed to have installed in 2011 when he believed his housekeepers were stealing from the home.

A jury awarded Nicole just $1 in damages, ESPN reported, but also awarded her $250,000 in damages.

Where is Greg Biffle’s house?

Biffle owned several luxury homes in different area.

At the time of his death, Biffle owned the Triple B Ranch in the South Mountains foothills area of North Carolina. The ranch is 1,153 acres and has beautiful Blue Mountain views and was available for rent for weddings and other events.

“This is where I come to kind of get away,” he said in a video tour of the ranch in November 2013. “My dream was to have a couple hundred acres, and be able to go off and motorcycle ride, sporting clay shoot or hike trails.” Biffle said the Triple B Ranch was a lot bigger than the plot of land he’d originally planned on buying, but that he “loved the place” and that it reminded him of areas near his Camas, Wash., hometown.

A unique feature of Biffle’s property is its own functional diesel and gas station, installed and operated by the man himself. You can fill up with regular for just $0.65 per gallon, prices no one has seen in pretty much an entire generation.

The land also has a cabin with bedrooms and a kitchenette for guests to stay over and a deck that sits at about 2,500 feet and overlooks the entire area.

“It was a fun project,” he said. “I love construction. I love building stuff.”

You can watch the tour below (though there may have been updates and upgrades since).

He also owned a waterfront home in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., that he put on the market in 2022 for $3.1 million. According to Orlando Weekly, Biffle didn’t live in the Ft. Lauderdale home and used it for rental income.

He also owned a mansion in Mooresville, N.C., that he used to share with his first wife, Nicole Biffle, and later used for rental income.

Does Greg Biffle live on Lake Norman?

Biffle owned a home Mooresville, N.C., on Lake Norman. According to the Charlotte Observer, when Biffle and his ex-wife separated in 2015, he moved out of their mansion and into an apartment, but maintained ownership of the Lake Norman property.

Biffle’s Mooresville home was worth an estimated $5.9 million at the time of Biffle’s death, according to Zillow. The 12,060-square foot home boasts four bedrooms and six and one half bathrooms, and the property spans a roomy 10.31 acre lot. Per Zillow, Biffle likely purchased the property in 2000 for $650,000, which is just a bit over $1.22 million when adjusted for inflation.

Grossu posted an Instagram video tour of the Lake Norman house, which they rented out on Airbnb. The home has beautiful lake views, two docks, a fire pit and stunning high ceilings in common areas, but also prettly dated-looking kitchen and bathroom (though she noted they planned on renovating the latter).
