After speaking out last month against her ex Elon Musk taking their 4-year-old son X Æ A-Xii to the White House, Grimes made a vulnerable admission in a recent social media post.
In a message shared to X on Saturday, March 22, the singer revealed that she was diagnosed with autism and ADHD.

“Got diagnosed w adhd/ autism this year and realized I’m prob dyslexic which is why I can’t spell at all without spellcheck,” she wrote.
“I feel like, had we known this when I was a child I would have worked so much less hard, been on drugs, and so many of the weird obsessions and motivations I had would have been seen as pathological and I could have written off certain things that were very hard for me but I’m glad I over came them,” she continued.

Grimes went on to say that her ADHD symptoms “were infinitely worse when [she] wasn’t an avid reader” and argued that a “huge percentage” of ADHD is related to “screen addiction and dopaminergic burn out.”
She also slammed “uninformed social media mental health subculture,” particularly “anti civilizational” accounts “geared towards making people worse.”
In addition to X Æ A-Xii, Grimes and Musk share daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and son Techno Mechanicus, 2.
