There are few things more magical than taking in dazzling fireworks on New Year’s Eve at the peak of Vancouver. 2026 marks the 100th year that Grouse Mountain has been in operation, and to celebrate, they’re ringing in the new year with a ton of festivities.
For one, Grouse is offering free guided, 45-minute snowshoe tours around the Blue Grouse Lake trail, including through the magical holiday light walk, and complimentary snowshoes are included.
While snowshoe tours are currently fully booked, you can still join the waitlist for any last-minute cancellations.
Visitors can also glide across the ice at Grouse’s famed mountaintop skating pond, which operates from 10 a.m. all the way to midnight, or check out the enchanting light walk.
Or, if you’re up to creating a keepsake, you can visit the híwus Feasthouse between 8 and 10:30 p.m. for First Nations crafts.
You can capture the moment with your loved ones at the Grouse 100 Photo Booth, which sits in the Peak Chalet from 3 p.m. to midnight. Visitors can also sip on free hot cocoa from 6 p.m. onwards at the CIBC Fire Pit Lounge while supplies last.
Finally, there will be food and drink specials all night long in Altitudes Bistro, with a live DJ spinning from 9 p.m. to the midnight countdown.
When do the free fireworks start?
The free fireworks display will kick off at midnight, amidst the countdown to the new year at the mountaintop skating pond. Before then, there will be a family-friendly show at 7 p.m.
The centennial kickoff takes place on Dec. 31, 2025, with celebrations starting at 5 p.m. and running until midnight.
Nearly all of the festivities are included with the purchase of a mountain admission ticket ($82 per adult, $72 per senior, $62 per youth, $42 per child), a lift ticket, or a Grouse Mountain pass. Alternatively, you can gain access to all the NYE fun for $39 with an evening ticket, which gets you access after 8 p.m.
Mark your calendars and get ready to ring in 2026 with the most unbeatable view of Vancouver imaginable.
