Grouse Mountain to offer free admission to locals for one day only next week

28 July 20253 Mins Read

Who doesn’t love free mountain admission during the peak of summer? That’s exactly what Grouse is offering locals next week as a thank you to the community.

On Wednesday, Aug. 6, Lower Mainland residents are invited to experience all that Grouse has to offer free of charge, including access to all the area’s hiking trails (including the new Peak Trail), Peak Chairlift and lookout deck access, the Kids Tree Canopy Adventure, and much more.

Free admission to the “Peak of Vancouver”

“From the launch of the new Blue Grouse Gondola to the opening of new hiking trails, and more exciting developments on the way, there’s never been a better time to explore Grouse Mountain,” says Michael Cameron, president of Grouse Mountain Resort. “The local community has always been the foundation of our success, so we’re thrilled to say thank you and provide the opportunity for first-timers and long-time friends to experience what’s new, and to uncover or rediscover what we do best – bring everyone together through meaningful experiences at The Peak of Vancouver.”

Whether it’s a family day out, a summer date, or a spontaneous trip with friends, there’s plenty to enjoy at “The Peak of Vancouver” – first-timers or not!

How to get your free Mountain Admission Ticket

All you need to secure your free Mountain Admission Ticket is a valid, government-issued ID proving residence in an eligible Lower Mainland community.

Guests can reserve their free ticket in advance online and then pick it up in person on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025. As parking is limited, visitors are encouraged to take advantage of Grouse’s free shuttle service, which picks people up at Canada Place.

Note that Grouse Bike Park access, food and beverage, parking, and retail purchases are not included in the free community day.

New at Grouse

Grouse Mountain has invested a lot over the past few years to create even more memorable guest experiences, including the addition of the new Blue Grouse Gondola last December, the newly opened Grouse Bike Park, and expanded hiking trails.

Visitors can also enjoy BBQ and live music in the Plaza between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., in addition to a variety of mountaintop entertainment.

The latter includes the following programming:

  • World-Famous Lumberjack Show: 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m.
  • Birds in Motion Demonstration: Noon, 2 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m.
  • Ranger Talks: 10 a.m., 1:45 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m.
  • Owl Talks: 10:45 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m.

Whether it’s your first or hundredth time on the mountain, there’s never been a better time to check out all that Grouse has to offer.
