Here are all the provincial parks you can visit from Vancouver without a car this summer

15 May 20252 Mins Read

You don’t need a car to visit some of the most breathtaking outdoor destinations in B.C., and Parkbus has officially launched its weekend schedule for Summer 2025. As Canada’s non-profit bus service, Parkbus is one of the most convenient ways to get out of the city for a breath of fresh air, a rewarding hike, or a day on the lake.

Starting mid-June, bus passengers can head to iconic provincial parks like Garibaldi and Golden Ears directly from downtown Vancouver, with guaranteed park admission. Fancy a cool dip in Wedgemount or Cultus Lake after a rigorous mountain hike? Parkbus has you covered.

A representative of Parkbus also shared that a new route is in the works to Coquihalla Canyon, aka the famed Othello Tunnels. Closed for repair since the November 2021 floods, the provincial park is set to reopen in the coming weeks. The journey will be launched in partnership with AdvantageHope and Hope BC to support local tourism in the area, and will “likely be free,” according to the representative.

While the route has not officially launched, details are expected to be finalized within the week. So, stay tuned for more info as it comes.

Passengers are picked up at 1025 Dunsmuir St. near the Bank of China and Burrard SkyTrain Station. Note that there are student and senior discounts on all Parkbus routes, which can be accessed by seniors over 60 and students with a valid student ID.

In addition to the B.C. trips, Parkbus has a nationwide program called NatureLink focused on providing free and subsidized transportation to groups across the country, including new Canadians, refugee and settlement agencies, and other marginalized populations.

Those seeking support with transportation can reach out to Parkbus directly.

Enjoy your trip!
