Here’s how to save your wallet and get cheap tickets at the CNE in Toronto

19 August 20253 Mins Read

The end of August can only mean one thing in Toronto, and that’s obviously the CNE.

From the Polar Express, the latest snack creation in the Food Building, and about $20 in toonies to win that giant teddy bear, these are some of the city’s most hyped events.

But all that fun can certainly add up, and when you factor in admissions tickets, you could be looking at quite a pricey trip.

Well, not to worry, there are many ways to enjoy the CNE without blowing a fortune. To lessen the load on your wallet, check out these ways to save money on your tickets.

$13 Nights

Evening fun can be enjoyed at a discount price with $13 nights!

Available through Aug. 18 to 21 and Aug. 25 to 28, tickets can be purchased for just $13 (plus $2.99 online fee). Here’s the catch: tickets will only be activated at these specific dates at 4:45 p.m.

CNE ExCelunch Special

This is a fun deal! For a three-hour experience, purchase a ticket for $26.55 and enjoy everything The Ex has to offer from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Then leave from your first entrance gate, and you’ll get your ticket refunded.

Tickets are only available at the Saskatchewan Gates, TCC/GO Gate’s and the Princes’ Gate from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Labour Day Monday excluded — so in other words, they can’t be bought online!

PRESTO card holders can also enjoy some exclusive perks, like up to 41 per cent off regular-priced Ride All Day tickets (this includes grounds admission) and 17 per cent off regular-priced admission.

Kids Toonie Mondays

While not exactly a discount on admission, CNE-goers with children can also score a sweet deal! Visit The Ex on Mondays for $2 kids admission, between the ages of 5 to 13-years-old. Kiddos four and under get in for free!

Once you’re inside The Ex, the discounts continue with exclusive offers at the Food Building!

Check out Beaver Tails to get one free small gelato with a large gelato purchase or three dozen of irresistible Tiny Tim donuts for $24. The Colossal Onion is giving away a free bottle of pop with every purchase of a Veggie Loaded Jalapeños Onion, and Manchu Wok is giving away one free spring roll with a purchase of a two or three-item combo!

Just visit the CNE website to find these discounts and download the coupons. Deals are also offered from Ali’s Roti, Bouchard’s Poutinery, Lucky Chicken, Dutch Frites, and a bunch more.
