Family Day is coming up on Monday, Feb. 17th, 2025, which means it’s the ideal time to start planning ahead for possible closures. And if you don’t already have long weekend plans, you’ve got a solid place to start here!

Here’s what’s open and closed in Vancouver on Family Day this year.

Open

  • Parks, gardens, and beaches
  • VanDusen Botanical Garden (tickets currently available between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., see current events & exhibits here)
  • Bloedel Conservatory
  • Granville Island Public Market (Pay Parking is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., individual stores vary)
  • Science World (tickets currently available from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
  • Vancouver Art Gallery (tickets currently available between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.)
  • Vancouver Aquarium (tickets currently available between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.)
  • Pharmacies (varying by location)
  • Canadian Tire (hours vary by location)
  • Home Depot (modified hours)
  • Translink bus, SkyTrain, and Seabus services (operating on Sunday/holiday schedule)
  • 7-Eleven (open 24 hours)
  • BC Liquor Stores (most open from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., varies by location)
  • Grocery stores (varying by location)
    • Whole Foods 
    • Save-On-Foods 
    • Safeway
    • London Drugs
    • Superstore

    • Walmart (7 a.m. to 11 p.m.)
