Here’s When ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 21 Will Be On Netflix

One of the longest-running shows on television was back for another 18-episode season on ABC throughout the Fall of 2024 and into 2025. Despite a change regarding the show’s streaming availability in the US, every episode of Grey’s Anatomy season 21 will hit Netflix in June 2025, as we originally predicted. Here’s what you can expect from the new season and when you’ll be able to start streaming.

Returning to its regular fall slot after a few years of shifted and changed release schedules (thanks to the pandemic and 2023 Hollywood strikes), the series began airing new episodes on September 26th, 2024, with its 18-episode run ending on May 16th, 2025.

Ellen Pompeo is back at the forefront of season 21 with Mega Marinis on showrunning duties for the show that Shonda Rhimes created. Back for this season alongside Pompea are other regulars Chandra Wilson, James Pickens, Jr., Kevin McKidd, Caterina Scorsone, and Camilla Luddington. Jake Borelli and Midori Francis also returned, although they exited this season.

When will Grey’s Anatomy season 21 be on Netflix? Where is it streaming on Netflix?

Only two regions of Netflix stream Grey’s Anatomy: Netflix in the United States and Netflix in Canada.

Let’s begin with the US release date. In years past, Netflix held the exclusive streaming rights to Grey’s, albeit Hulu and ABC itself had the series available on their platforms in a catch-up capacity. That changed in late 2024 with a new deal that would mean Netflix shares the streaming rights to the past 20 seasons (400+ episodes). That deal also included many big Disney-owned series like Prison Break coming to Netflix throughout 2024 (a dozen plus shows in total). Hulu and ABC will be the only places to watch season 21 until Netflix bags the new episodes next year.

When will season 21 hit Netflix, then? As noted previously, new seasons have dropped in the US each June. That was the case with season 20 (that fell on June 29th, 2024), season 19 (June 17th, 2023), and season 18 (June 25th, 2022).

Netflix has confirmed that the US will receive all 18 episodes on June 14th, 2025.

Canadians don’t get new episode drops quite as fast as the US, with new seasons typically dropping in the Fall (sometimes between September and December).

If you’re not in the United States or Canada, your streaming options are mostly limited to Disney-owned services. At the time of publishing, Disney+ was the primary streaming service for all 20+ seasons.

There’s also good news about the future: season 22 is confirmed with an expected late 2025 return. Production is due to begin in Summer 2025 in Los Angeles.
