Here’s when spray parks and outdoor pools reopen in Edmonton

19 May 20263 Mins Read

With the weather finally warming up in Edmonton, I can safely say it’s time for outdoor pool and spray park season.

The City of Edmonton seems to agree with me, as it has finally released the opening dates for all its outdoor pools and spray parks. What does this mean for you? It means you can finally splash around for the season, with everything opening up or already open for your pleasure.

Select spray parks opened officially on May 15, like Jackie Parker spray park and Castle Downs spray park. Other spray parks, which weren’t designed specifically to meet neighbourhood needs, will open by June 5.

Something new to note for 2026 is that the City is encouraging patrons to bring their own food and empty water bottles, as concessions will no longer be available at outdoor pool sites.

As for the outdoor pools themselves, I’ve listed out the locations and exact opening dates for each and every one, so you don’t have to go searching around for them.

Without further ado, let’s get into all of Edmonton’s outdoor pools for the season.

Located in the downtown core, Wîhkwêntôwin Outdoor Pool is ideal for city residents seeking an outdoor escape. You won’t find a better outdoor pool this close to the heart of the city.

When: Opening Wednesday, May 20, 2026
Time:
Public swim available from noon to 8 p.m.
Where:
10315 119th St., Edmonton, Alta.
Cost:
$6.50+ or free for children under two

Surrounded by the greenery of the adjacent parklands and trails, Mill Creek Outdoor Pool is a picturesque escape to cool off from the sun. This pool features large picnic table fixtures and a large tanning area for those just looking to relax.

When: Opening Saturday, May 23, 2026
Time:
Public swim available from noon to 8 p.m. daily
Where:
9555 84th Ave., Edmonton, Alta.
Cost:
$6.50+ or free for children under two

Both the pool and the Kinsmen Spray Park, combined with surrounding attractions around the river valley, make this spot the perfect place for a hot summer day.

When: Opening Saturday, May 30, 2026
Time:
Public swim available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: 9170 Walterdale Hill, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost:
$6.50+ or free for children under two

Whether it’s one metre or three, feel free to jump off the diving board at Fred Broadstock Outdoor Pool and into the water.

Located in West Edmonton, this pool offers a family-friendly atmosphere with amenities such as a dryland basketball hoop, a children’s teach pool, and surrounding picnic tables.

When: Opening Saturday, June 6, 2026
Time:
Public swim available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily
Where:
15720 105th Ave., Edmonton, Alta.
Cost:
$6.50+ or free for children under two

This pool is actually Canada’s first public, man-made, natural swimming pool where no chemicals are used to disinfect the water. The spot is perfect for lounging in the summer sun, complete with a sandy exterior and plenty of lounge space.

When: Opening Saturday, June 20, 2026
Time:
Public swim available from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily
Where:
7615 Borden Park Rd. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost:
$6.25+ or free for children under two
