Here’s when the next jaw-dropping season of ‘Yellowjackets’ starts filming in Vancouver

3 September 20253 Mins Read

Mark your calendars, Yellowjackets fans, because your favourite series is set to film its next season in the Vancouver area once again.

We hear the wilderness, and it hears us, and “it” has chosen to film in early 2026!

A “cultural juggernaut”

Renewed for season four back in May, the popular series follows the complicated lives of a slew of plane crash survivors who went down in the remote Canadian wilderness. Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the show stars Emmy nominees Melanie Lynskey (adult Shauna), Christina Ricci (adult Misty), and Lauren Ambrose (adult Van), as well as Tawny Cypress (adult Tai) and Simone Kessell (adult Lottie) in the adult timeline.

In the teenage timeline, the talented Sophie Nélisse (teen Shauna), Jasmin Savoy Brown (teen Tai), Sophie Thatcher (teen Natalie), Samantha Hanratty (teen Misty), Courtney Eaton (teen Lottie), Liv Hewson (teen Van), Steven Krueger (Coach Ben), and Kevin Alves (teen Travis) have graced our screens, and we’re sure they will again.

The show also features Warren Kole as Jeff and Sarah Desjardins as Shauna’s daughter, Callie.

While Elijah Wood (Walter) has had a recurring role and Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank (adult Melissa) appeared in the third season as a guest star, we’ll have to see if the two return in the season ahead.

“Yellowjackets has become a cultural juggernaut,” says Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios. “Ashley and Bart have masterfully crafted an utterly singular, genre-defying phenomenon: a perfect alchemy of psychological horror, survival thriller and coming-of-age drama that continues to captivate audiences worldwide, brought to life by our extraordinarily talented and beloved cast.”

A cliffhanger season three finale

The show’s third season marks its most-watched season yet, so it’s clear that audiences are fully invested and hungry for more.

In the season three finale, the long-awaited identities of “pit girl” and the “antler queen” were revealed, marking a satisfying “full-circle” moment, as per the episode’s title.

Viewers were then left on a near-literal cliffhanger with teenage Natalie (Sophie Thatcher), which we can’t wait to see play out in season four.

Filming locations in Greater Vancouver

Like the seasons that came before it, season three was largely filmed in and around Vancouver. According to Creative B.C., the season featured iconic locations across Greater Vancouver, including Burnaby Mountain, Surrey, Langley, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Squamish, and Harrison Peak.

When does season four start filming?

According to the Film and Television Industry Alliance (FTIA) Production List, season four of Yellowjackets commences filming in Vancouver on Feb. 17, 2026. While no specific filming locations or additional dates have been released at this time, we’re on high alert for any updates on the cast’s socials as well as other production lists.

So, all that to say, stay tuned for more season four updates as they come!
