Here’s when Whistler Blackcomb opens for the 2025/2026 winter season

20 August 20253 Mins Read

It’s a big season ahead for Vail Resorts, which just announced the anticipated opening dates for a handful of its resorts across the globe. This includes our very own Whistler Blackcomb, which is celebrating 60 years on Whistler Mountain this upcoming season!

It might still be summer for a few more weeks, but it never hurts to plan ahead for scenic, snowy days on the mountain.

World-renowned for its unparalleled mountain adventures, Whistler draws visitors from all around. No matter the season or activity, you’re guaranteed breathtaking views and memories that stay with you forever. But there is something truly special about being on the mountain for ski/snowboard/snowshoe season.

Its 60th year can only mean that incredible new experiences are in store, including the new Wonder Routes.

Seven new curated routes

Designed to be “Whistler Blackcomb’s version of the seven wonders of the world,” according to a representative of Vail Resorts, the new Wonder Routes are curated to help skiers and riders explore the mountains in a safe, more personalized way. First-time visitors and seasoned pros alike will find something that’s up their alley.

From a route that weaves through the glades to a slower route that’s kid-friendly, each Wonder Route is tailored to help guests discover something new. There’s even an après route that hits all of the best après spots!

“No matter your ski and ride style, Wonder Routes offers a network of trails, waypoints, and stops to help you discover all of the wonders and jaw-dropping experiences that make Whistler Blackcomb one of the best resorts in the world,” says Vail Resorts. “When you’re ready to call it a day on the mountain, the fun continues with a vibrant village and legendary après scene to carry the celebrations well into the evening.”

Passes and pricing info

Now, let’s get into pricing for the season ahead. Skiers and riders have until Sept. 1, 2025, to purchase a pass before they increase in price, so now is the ideal time to buy one if you’re planning to spend a significant amount of time on the slopes.

First off, the Whistler Blackcomb EDGE Card offers exclusive discounts to Canadian and Washington State Residents with access to Whistler Blackcomb starting at $242 for a two-day pass. Those with an EDGE Card can choose from 2, 5, or 10 days.

However, it’s the Epic Pass that offers avid skiers and snowboarders the best deals of the season, with unlimited access to Whistler Blackcomb and over 90 resorts worldwide. Currently, Epic Passes are priced at $1,075 USD for adults and $548 USD for children.

You can also get 50 per cent off lift access in-season when you get six Epic Friend Tickets.

So if you’re already looking forward to the season of snowy peaks and days on the mountain, consider booking ahead.

When will Whistler Blackcomb open for the 2025/2026 winter season?

Whistler Blackcomb’s target opening date for the winter season is Friday, Nov. 21, 2025. Note that this date depends on weather conditions and is subject to change — so stay tuned for more info as it comes.

Mark your calendars, and snag your passes while prices are low.
