Here’s where you can spot big-name celebs in Toronto this month, Life in canada

12 August 20252 Mins Read

You could bump into a whole host of famous people later this month as a much-loved event returns to Toronto.

Fan Expo Canada returns to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre later this month, drawing hundreds of thousands of fans for four days of celebrity meet-and-greets, panels, and all things geek culture.

Running from Friday, August 21, to Monday, August 24, the 2025 edition marks a significant milestone — 30 years since the first-ever Fan Expo was held in Toronto. Back in 1995, just over 1,500 people attended. Today, it has grown into the third-largest pop culture convention in North America.

And it’s not just superheroes and sci-fi icons making appearances. Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is scheduled to meet fans, adding some real-world punch to the weekend’s roster.

Other notable names include Star Trek legend William Shatner, Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld, veteran actor Ron Perlman, wrestling superstar Sting, and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, a native of Toronto.

This year’s guest list reads like a dream for fans of Back to the Future, Star Wars, and Superman.

For Back to the Future fans, Canada’s own Michael J. Fox will reunite with co-star Christopher Lloyd — Marty McFly and Doc Brown together again. They’ll be joined by Bob Gale, the creator of the beloved sci-fi trilogy.

The Star Wars galaxy will also have a strong presence. Ewan McGregor, known for his role as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, will appear along with John Boyega, who played Finn in the sequel trilogy, and Dafne Keen, who starred in the Star Wars spin-off series The Acolyte.

Fans of the Man of Steel can expect a triple dose of Superman. Tom Welling (Smallville), Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), and Tyler Hoechlin (Superman & Lois), three actors who have donned the iconic cape, will all be in attendance.

Here’s a few more notable celebrities that’ll be at this year’s Fax Expo and when they’ll be appearing:

  • Mike Tyson: Saturday.
  • Michael J. Fox: Friday and Saturday.
  • Hailee Steinfeld: Sunday.
  • William Shatner: Friday and Saturday.
