‘High Tides’ Not Over Yet! Netflix Movie Sequel Officially in Production

Just when you thought the sun had set on the luxurious Belgian coastal town of Knokke, Netflix pulls out a massive surprise. After wrapping up what was billed as its final act with Season 3, the hit Belgian-Dutch teen drama High Tides (known locally as Knokke Off) is officially returning for a feature-length movie!

In true High Tides fashion, the announcement wasn’t made via a press release. Instead, the news broke in the most rockstar way possible over the weekend (hat tip to The Nerd Shepherd for the heads up!).

First arriving on Netflix in 2023, the series just recently wrapped up with its third and final season on April 3rd, 2026. The show once again entered the weekly top 10s for the period of April 5th to April 12th, picking up 1.6M views.

During a live concert on Saturday night at the AFAS Dome, series lead and pop star Pommelien Thijs was surprised on stage by her fellow cast members. They crashed the set, holding up a massive sign that read: “Pommelien, vergeet je niets?” (“Pommelien, aren’t you forgetting something?”). Shortly after, the upcoming film was officially announced to the roaring crowd.

Footage of the surprise reveal quickly made its way onto the venue’s Instagram page, and Thijs herself took to social media later that night to confirm the news, officially marking the film as “in production.” The clapper held on stage features the words: KNOKKE OFF: DE FILM and Netflix clearly displayed.

What do we know about the High Tides movie so far?

Behind the camera, the film is in familiar hands. It is being produced by the Flemish production company Dingie, the same team behind the hit series, in collaboration with distributor Dutch FilmWorks and the Belgian broadcaster VRT.

As for the plot? That is being kept tightly under wraps. Right now, the storyline remains a complete secret, and Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed which of the familiar faces will be returning for the feature film—though given the concert stunt, we can safely bet on a reunion of the core cast.

For those who might need a quick refresher, High Tides follows a group of privileged young adults spending their summers in the upscale seaside resort town of Knokke. Behind the glitz, designer clothes, and endless parties lies a dark web of tension, secrets, and intense personal drama. The show became a massive breakout hit for Netflix thanks to its highly bingeable drama and incredible cast.

Alongside Pommelien Thijs, the series stars Willem De Schryver, Anna Drijver, Eliyha Altena, and Geert Van Rampelberg. The recently wrapped third season also introduced Daan Schuurmans and Nola Elvis Kemper to the messy coastal drama.

When will the High Tides movie be on Netflix?

Because the production has only just been announced and is still in its very early stages, we don’t have a release date or window just yet. It will likely be quite a wait before we get to return to Knokke—but knowing that the story isn’t over yet is more than enough to tide us over.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one and will update you with cast news, plot synopses, and release dates as soon as we get them.

Are you excited that the story of High Tides is continuing with a Netflix movie? Let us know in the comments down below!
