Hilton has opened its first Hilton Garden Inn Gen A hotels in China and announced 19 additional signings across the region.
Hilton has officially launched its first Hilton Garden Inn Gen A properties in China in Chongqing, Sanya, and Harbin. Concurrently, the company revealed plans for significant expansion with 19 new hotel signings across Greater China. These developments were announced at the 2025 Hilton Garden Inn Investment Summit.
The new Hilton Garden Inn Gen A model, introduced specifically for the Chinese market, features a design aimed at meeting the contemporary needs of travelers. The first of these new properties, the Hilton Garden Inn Chongqing Yubei Central Park, includes 276 guest rooms and suites. This hotel and others in Sanya and Harbin integrate business-friendly amenities with lifestyle-oriented features.
In Sanya, the Hilton Garden Inn Sanya Haitang Bay is located near several tourist attractions and shopping areas, enhancing its appeal to leisure and business visitors. Similarly, the Hilton Garden Inn Harbin Haxi is in a prime area of western Harbin, close to major business districts and cultural sites.
The expansion strategy includes the newly opened hotels and 19 newly signed projects. These are set to be located in various key cities and cultural tourism markets, such as Xining, Weihai, Changbai Mountain, and Yiwu. This move is part of Hilton’s broader strategy to deepen its presence in China, targeting core urban centers and regions with high tourism potential.
Hilton Garden Inn operates over 115 properties in China, with an additional 185 in the development pipeline. This rapid expansion underscores Hilton’s commitment to growing its footprint in the Asia Pacific region, with more than 130 Hilton Garden Inn hotels in operation.
