Hilton experienced a significant increase in its portfolio and pipeline in the Caribbean and Latin America in 2024, with nearly 280 hotels and over 130 hotels in the pipeline, marking the largest in its regional history.
In 2024, Hilton (NYSE: HLT) experienced an unprecedented expansion in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA), marking a historic year of growth in the region. Notably, Hilton signed more deals in 2024 than in any previous year, signaling extraordinary pipeline growth.
Fueling this accelerated expansion was the value of Hilton’s award-winning brands and the expertise of its local development team. The growth was particularly significant in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Brazil. Hilton plans to nearly double its presence in the Caribbean by adding 35 more properties to its portfolio of over 45 hotels.
In 2024, Hilton added 64 new properties, the highest number in its history in CALA. This expansion included an exclusive partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Conversions remained a crucial growth driver, accounting for almost 60% of the company’s openings in the region.
Hilton expanded to five new countries and territories in CALA, enhancing its presence and providing more options for travelers. Its award-winning brands celebrated significant market firsts and milestones, with Motto by Hilton debuting in South America and DoubleTree by Hilton premiering in Argentina and Ecuador.
Hilton’s development efforts in CALA achieved historic results in 2024. With a year-end pipeline of over 130 projects, including more than 50% already under construction, Hilton signed more than 40 new agreements in the region in 2024, representing approximately 6,000 rooms of future growth.
In 2025, Hilton will open the Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique and Zemi Miches All-inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton. The company is poised for extraordinary growth in the luxury and lifestyle segments, with nearly a third of hotels in the region’s pipeline in these categories.
Hilton’s flagship and focused service brands are experiencing unstoppable growth. Powerhouse brands Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn continue to grow steadily. At the same time, Tru by Hilton, which launched in CALA in 2022, has seen breakthrough growth and is now one of the region’s largest brands in Hilton’s pipeline.
