Hilton has announced plans to expand its portfolio in Morocco by more than double, intending to exceed 20 hotels in the coming years. The plan involves signing nine new properties and adding over 1,300 rooms across seven of its global brands.
Among the new hotels, the company will introduce the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts brand in the capital, Rabat. The luxury LXR Hotels & Resorts, lifestyle Curio Collection by Hilton, and value-driven Hampton by Hilton brands will make their Moroccan debut.
Carlos Khneisser, vice president of development, Middle East and Africa, Hilton, stated that the new signings are in response to an increase in tourism to Morocco.
The expansion includes a partnership with O Tower to bring the first Waldorf Astoria property to Rabat. The hotel, set to open in 2025, will be part of a mixed-use development that will become the tallest building in Morocco. It will feature 55 guest rooms and suites, two specialty restaurants, a spa, an outdoor and infinity pool, and a fitness studio.
Hilton has also partnered with Yamed Group to debut the first LXR Hotels & Resorts and Curio Collection by Hilton properties in Morocco. The LXR property, expected to open in 2025, will be located in Casablanca’s ‘Triangle d’Or’ as part of the ‘Metropolitan’ development, a high-end mixed-use project. The hotel will house 148 guest rooms, suites, three signature restaurants, a wellness spa, an outdoor pool, and meeting spaces.
The company will continue expanding its Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, and Hilton Garden Inn brands nationwide, with new properties in Rabat and Casablanca.
Hilton will also introduce its Hampton by Hilton brand to Morocco with new hotels in Benguérir and Fes. These hotels, which will open in 2025 and 2027, respectively, will offer the brand’s signature free, hot breakfast with healthy options.
These new properties will join Hilton’s portfolio in Morocco, including 10 existing hotels and four properties under development.
