Hilton Reaches 200 Hotel Milestone in Canada

Hilton has opened its 200th hotel in Canada, with more than 100 additional properties in development across the country.

Hilton has announced the opening of its 200th hotel in Canada, marking a significant expansion of its presence in the country. The company has nearly doubled its Canadian portfolio over the past decade, focusing on its focused service, extended stay, and lifestyle brands. Recent openings include Hôtel Vallea Bromont, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton Woodstock, ON, and Spark by Hilton Toronto Mississauga.

The company’s growth strategy in Canada emphasizes a mix of existing hotels and a pipeline of over 100 properties across various brands. This includes the introduction of new brands, such as Spark by Hilton, which debuted in Canada last year with the opening of Spark by Hilton Toronto Markham. The extended-stay category has also seen significant growth, with Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton doubling in size over the past decade.

In the lifestyle segment, Hilton has introduced several new properties, including Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotels in Montreal and Niagara Falls, as well as the Revery Toronto Downtown, a Curio Collection by Hilton. The first Canopy by Hilton in Canada opened in Toronto in 2023.

Hilton’s development pipeline includes the first Motto by Hilton in Canada, expected to open in Montreal in 2028, and the inaugural Tempo by Hilton, planned for Toronto in 2029. Over the next year, more than 20 new hotels across multiple brands are expected to open in key growth markets. These include DoubleTree by Hilton North Vancouver, Hampton Inn by Hilton Calgary Downtown, Homewood Suites by Hilton Surrey, Home2 Suites by Hilton Vaughan Toronto, and Tru by Hilton Milton.
