Hilton has announced plans to expand its DoubleTree by Hilton brand in Africa with the signing of three new properties. The new hotels will be located in Togo, Morocco, and the Republic of Congo, marking Hilton’s entry into the Togolese market.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Lomé Airport in Togo will be developed in partnership with SODEXH SA. Positioned opposite Lomé International Airport, the hotel will be the first internationally branded airport property in the country. It will feature 165 guest rooms and suites, a restaurant, a lobby café, an outdoor pool, a spa, and a fitness center. The hotel will also offer flexible meeting spaces, including a ballroom and three meeting rooms.
In the Republic of Congo, the DoubleTree by Hilton Kintele will be located in Brazzaville’s Kintele district. The property will include 200 guest rooms and suites, a fitness center, a tennis court, a spa, and a beauty salon. Dining options will include a lobby bar, pool bar, and two specialty restaurants. The hotel will also house a 75,000-square-meter conference center, featuring an auditorium for 1,500 guests, banquet halls, a VIP lounge, and a museum hall. The hotel is expected to open in 2026.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Marrakech La Palmeraie in Morocco will be situated in the Palmeraie district. It will offer 228 guest rooms and suites, landscaped gardens, and multiple dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant, lobby café, and pool bar. The hotel will also feature a pool area, a gym, a spa, and a paddle court. Meeting facilities will include a ballroom and meeting rooms. The hotel is anticipated to open in 2028.
These developments are part of Hilton’s strategy to expand its presence in Africa, where it currently has more than 100 hotels in its pipeline. The new DoubleTree by Hilton properties will join the brand’s global portfolio, which includes over 700 hotels across 61 countries and territories.
