Hilton’s luxury brand Waldorf Astoria is set to debut in Texas by signing an agreement for the Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country and Waldorf Astoria Residences Texas Hill Country. The Fredericksburg-based resort, to be open in 2027, will offer 60 hotel rooms, 37 resort villas, 50 private residences, and extensive amenities.
Hilton has signed a branding and management agreement with Wine Country Hospitality Partners LLC to establish the first Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts in Texas. The new Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country and Waldorf Astoria Residences Texas Hill Country are scheduled to open in 2027 in Fredericksburg, a burgeoning destination less than two hours outside Austin and San Antonio.
The Hilton managed property will comprise 60 hotel guest rooms and suites, 37 multi-bedroom resort villas eligible for a hotel rental program, and 50 private residences. In addition, the luxury resort will feature five food and beverage concepts, an 11,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, and two resort-style pools.
Amy King, vice president of luxury & mixed-use development at Hilton, underscored the importance of this milestone for Hilton’s growth and expansion across the Americas. The resort returns to the roots of Hilton’s founder, Conrad Hilton, who started his hotel business in Texas over 105 years ago.
Located near downtown Fredericksburg, the Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country aims to offer a central location for visitors seeking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Notably, the region is the most popular wine-tasting destination in the state, with over 100 wineries, and is the second most visited wine country in the United States.
The resort, designed in collaboration with Studio CABAN, FAB Studio, TIPLER Group, Studio Outside, and Paul Duesing Partners, aims to serve as a refined haven for visitors. Accommodations will feature authentic Texan design elements, views of the Hill Country, multi-room resort villas, private plunge pools, and outdoor courtyards.
A significant feature of the resort is the planned 87 Waldorf Astoria Residences. These will include single-story estates, villas, and cottage-style Sunday homes with custom options available. The 50 private residences will offer waterside views of Baron’s Creek and easy access to the historic Fredericksburg city center. Owners will also benefit from the range of amenities provided by the resort and the signature resident services of the Waldorf Astoria brand.
The resort will also offer numerous dining and wellness facilities, including five food and beverage experiences and an extensive spa and fitness center. Moreover, the resort will provide a variety of venues for corporate retreats, meetings, and celebrations, with approximately 6,000 square feet of indoor meeting space.
Developers Mark Harmon, Robert Radovan, and Tim Sparapani of Wine Country Hospitality Partners LLC have expressed enthusiasm for the project. They believe the resort will draw attention to Fredericksburg’s unique architecture and history while also offering a new experience for travelers and future residents.
