He might be best known for getting smashed in the face with an iron by Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone, but Daniel Stern has since traded zany Hollywood hijinks for a more peaceful existence on his California ranch.
Fans were shocked when an Instagram user recently shared a video from Stern’s account featuring the 67-year-old star showing off his recent sculpture of a woman lying on her back on a chair, her legs lifted in the air and her head on the ground.
“I’ve completed the dress and pretty much completed the sculpture,” Stern said in the clip, zooming in to show off the intricate texture of the figure’s dress.
“I love that pose. Thanks for watching,” he added.

Stern’s artistic talent came as a huge surprise to commenters, who couldn’t help but reference Home Alone.
“Is she falling down the stairs having been hit in the face with a beam?” joked one person. “That aside, that’s bloody impressive sculpting!”
“Plot twist, he moved on from petty crime to this!! There is someone inside it 🙃,” someone else quipped.
“I really hope his artist name is The Barefoot Bandit,” wrote a third fan, referencing Stern’s bare feet at the end of his video.

Stern recently opened up to People about the “overwhelming” support he’s received from social media users for his new life growing tangerines and making his art, which he calls an “extension of the human condition.”
“What I love about social media is you can tell your story,” Stern said, “and it feels good to tell it. And sort of that’s the final step of any artistic creation is giving it to an audience. So it’s a wonderful world, and I’m so tickled people have discovered some of my stuff through the TikTok thing there.”
“I made enough money that I didn’t have to work,” the star continued. “I made enough money and I’m kind of frugal…I bought the house in cash. I bought the cars in cash. I bought everything straight up because as an artist, I never knew if [I was] going to make any more bread. And I said to my wife, ‘How much money do I need to sock in the bank so that we can live off the interest and so that I don’t have to work?’ She said, ‘We hit it.’ That was like, ‘Okay, Dan, now you’re going to put your money where your mouth is’…’What am I going to do with it? Am I going to keep chasing another part or that?'”
“I love being in nature,” Stern added. “I love being away. I love my solitude and I love being able to focus on what I’m making. So the farm world is a great place for me.”
