How MEC Member Month is helping Calgarians get ready for summer

To kick off trail season, MEC is celebrating with Member Month from May 1 to 31. All month long, you can join in on community events and clinics dedicated to helping you get outside, hit the trails, set up camp, and make the most of the summer ahead. Here’s how.

Demo Days

Often, the best way to learn is by doing, which is why MEC stores are hosting Demo Days on May 2 and 3 in Calgary from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Members will get hands-on access to new gear, expert guidance and practical tips from staff and brand partners, exclusive deals, and the chance to win grand prizes valued up to $1,200.

Plus, the first 20 people to arrive at the store each day of the event can get their hands on a special prize.

Gear Swap

Whether you’re looking to give your old gear new life or find something new to you, the Gear Swap is a great opportunity to snag deals on quality second-hand gear while connecting with others in your local outdoor community.

And since the Gear Swap is happening at the same time as Demo Days (on May 2 and 3), you can join in on both.

Deals and discounts

It wouldn’t be a celebration of MEC Members without some sweet deals. May 1 to 7 will offer 20 per cent off top brands, while May 22 to 31 will have discounts on in-store bike shop services. And all month long, you can shop up to 20 per cent off MEC Label gear, check out in-store clinics and events at select locations, and enter giveaways for prizes valued up to $1,200.

As Canadians get ready for summer campouts, long days on the trail, and new seasonal goals, it’s important to be prepared.
