How to get the Darkbringer sword in Crimson Desert

25 March 20263 Mins Read

The powerful Darkbringer in Crimson Desert adds a high-fantasy flavor to Kliff’s medieval adventure. There are many special weapons in the game, like the Soul Spear and the Frozen Anguish. Obtaining them, however, requires you to face challenging foes and explore dangerous locations — a fair price to pay for a weapon that can be a game-changer.

If you want to add a strong sword with a unique special ability to your arsenal, here’s how to get the Darkbringer in Crimson Desert.

How to get the Darkbringer sword in Crimson Desert

If you plan on getting the Darkbringer sword, you must prepare for a long journey. This weapon is located at the White Wastes Sanctuary on the northwestern side of Pailune, which we’ve marked with a star on the map below.

Unfortunately, there is no quick way to reach the sanctuary. You can either get there by moving north from Hernand or by heading northwest from Demeniss. Additionally, Pailune is a mid-to-late-game area, so you’ll encounter a lot of Black Bear camps during your trip. It’s possible to avoid confrontation, but be sure to carry a bunch of food and unlock any abyss nexus on the way to the White Wastes Sanctuary.

Once you reach the sanctuary, you’ll see a giant skeleton with a yellow cloth in its mouth. Approach the skeleton’s head and collect the Darkbringer sword.

This is a two-handed weapon with 22 attack, critical rate level three, and attack speed level one. It has five abyss gear slots, and comes with three already equipped. Faster than the Frozen Anguish, this sword has a solid cleave, capable of hitting about three enemies simultaneously.

However, the main reason to go after this sword is because of Ator’s Orb, an equipped abyss gear. The Ator’s Orb gear will spawn a golden orb that will attack your enemies whenever you use a heavy attack. If you’d like to put it on a different weapon, head to a witch to remove it from the Darkbringer sword and attach it on to another weapon.

Just starting out in Crimson Desert? We have guides to help you learn the basics and refresh your memory on how some of its systems work. The world of Pywel is huge, so you might have a hard time deciding where to go first, but you can make your journey a little easier with the help of our interactive map. Along the way, make sure to learn a few life skills like fishing, logging, cooking, and mining, all of which can help you make money.

We also have walkthroughs for puzzles in the Abyss like the Root’s End and Precipice of Truth, as well as ancient ruins like the Dragon’s Stone Chamber.
