Obtaining the Silver Fang mount in Crimson Desert requires serious dedication, as this legendary mount is locked behind a lengthy faction quest sequence. Once you’ve defeated Black Fang and completed “Legendary Wolf,” however, the ensuing fight with Silver Fang will be a breeze — it only requires a secret but readily available weapon.
Here’s how to unlock the “Legendary Wolf” quest, where to find Silver Fang, and how to claim Silver Fang as a legendary mount in Crimson Desert.
How to get the Silver Fang Mount in Crimson Desert
Getting the Silver Fang mount in Crimson Desert is a long process. To get it, you’ll need to do the following:
- Complete the “Legendary Wolf” quest.
- Find and defeat Silver Fang.
- Go to a witch and craft the Sigil of Solidarity.
Before you head off to the “Legendary Wolf” quest, we recommend completing “The Missing Seal” quest in Chapter 5 to unlock Elowen, the Witch of Wisdom. You’ll need her to craft abyss gears, which is a required step to unlock the Silver Fang mount.
How to complete the ‘Legendary Wolf’ quest in Crimson Desert
Silver Fang will only spawn after you’ve completed the “Legendary Wolf” faction quest, which ends with a fight against Black Fang (not a mount). Unfortunately, you’ll have to complete most Hernand-based faction quests to trigger the “Legendary Wolf” quest, so this will take at least several hours if you’re still in the early game.
There are varying reports about which faction quests should be completed first. In our experience, completing the following faction quests in (roughly) this order should trigger “Legendary Wolf”:
- Complete every House Roberts quest (10 in total).
- Complete every House Alfonso quest (six in total).
- Complete the first 10 House Serkis quests (the final three won’t be unlocked yet).
- Complete the first four House Celeste quests that aren’t bounties, including “Queen of the Silkspun Citadel” and “Abandoned Factory.”
- Complete the Vellua Fishermen’s Guild quests (six in total).
- Complete the first four Hernandian Parish of Solumen quests, including “Missing Relic.”
- Complete the “Hellhounds” quest for House Celeste.
To reiterate, you don’t need to complete House Celeste bounties to trigger “Legendary Wolf.”
The “Legendary Wolf” quest will send you to the northeast corner of Hernand, where the soldiers will ask you to track the legendary wolf. Once you’ve arrived at the quest marker (see the red cross on the map below), you must use your lantern and follow the yellow line to find the legendary wolf’s lair (see the star on the map below), which is just slightly northwest of the initial quest marker.
The legendary wolf, aka Black Fang, is near a cliff’s edge, surrounded by smaller wolves. To make this fight a bit easier, you can try to block Black Fang’s attacks while you take out the minions first (they won’t respawn). A great way to deplete half of Black Fang’s HP in one hit is to use Nature’s Grasp to pick up a tree, and slam it into Black Fang.
But the fight’s not over yet; after depleting Black Fang’s HP, the legendary wolf will run away. Use your lantern to track it down again. Phase two of this fight takes place further west, on the slope above Howling Hollow. Again, you can use Nature’s Grasp to whack Black Fang with a tree trunk.
How to find and defeat Silver Fang in Crimson Desert
When Black Fang is dead, run to the nearby military camp to complete the “Legendary Wolf” quest, then go back to Howling Hollow to find Silver Fang (you must complete the quest first). Look for a small glade full of blue flowers, flanked by cliffs. Beware that the blue flowers are poisonous, so try not to touch them!
If you don’t see Silver Fang, they may be inside the Howling Hollow cave — the entrance is on the southwest side of the glade. This is actually preferable, as it’ll give you an opportunity to kill some of its minions first.
When you’re ready, you could fight Silver Fang the normal way… or you could use a handy “cheat.” First, lure Silver Fang to the glade’s exit; they can’t follow you any further. Now, you could either spam arrows until Silver Fang is dead, or better yet, you could chop a nearby tree (Silver Fang will just hang around the glade’s exit), pick it up with Nature’s Grasp, and slam it down on Silver Fang, who will die instantly.
To obtain Silver Fang as a Crimson Desert legendary mount, skin the body to loot the Fang of Silver Fang. Take this item to Elowen in The Witchwoods (southwest of Hernand), choose “craft abyss gear,” and craft the Sigil of Solidarity (Silver Fang). Open your inventory to use the Sigil. From now on, Silver Fang can be summoned as your mount.
If you’d like to collect more Crimson Desert mounts, you can hunt the Snowwhite Deer or the White Bear mount; neither of them requires a bazillion prerequisite quests!
