How to use Glory in Nioh 3

You’ll start earning Glory in Nioh 3 fairly early on in your playthrough, but its purpose is not made clear for quite a while. This is a game with a lot of different mechanics and systems working with one another, and Glory is something that you could easily still be bewildered about when you feel like the rest of Nioh 3 makes sense.

This is because it’s tied to clan battles, which aren’t unlocked for quite a while, so you can’t use Glory at all until then. Here’s everything you need to know about Glory in Nioh 3.

How to use Glory in Nioh 3

As you progress through the story, you’ll eventually unlock the hidden teahouse in the Eternal Rift. To be specific, it appears once you’ve beaten Takeda Shingen, the final main boss in the Warring States period, and when you’ve unlocked the Heian region.

Ran by Matsunaga Hisahide, the hidden teahouse is where you need to go to join a clan and partake in clan battles. The winner of these battles is determined by whichever clan earns more Glory within a set window. The winners then receive even more Glory as a reward.

Glory can be spent at the hidden teahouse via the trade menu, which offers various items for sale. So essentially, Glory is another form of currency.

How to get more Glory in Nioh 3

How do you earn Glory to win the clan battles? Essentially, anything that pertains to online play rewards you with Glory. This includes but is not limited to the following:

• Defeating revenants, the avatars of other players who have died, indicated by red swords in the ground.
• Having your avatar summoned to help other players, by using a Righteous Jasper to leave a blue sword where you stand.
• Being summoned as a visitor live by other players.
• Embarking on expeditions with other players, which is essentially a co-op mode for exploration.

Unfortunately, it seems that all Glory you earn prior to unlocking the hidden teahouse is eradicated once you get there, or at least it was in our experience. We’d accumulated Glory from all of the above, but upon trying to trade it for items, our balance was set back down to zero.

So if you want to farm Glory, we’d recommend waiting until you’ve actually unlocked the ability to do something with it.
