Mazabi sells three Spanish hotels, in Madrid, Seville and Cádiz
Spanish real estate-focused family office Mazabi has sold three hotels (totalling 265 rooms) in Spain for €54 million (€203,800 per room). The hotels are the four-star, 90-room Letoh Letoh Gran Via in Madrid, the four-star, 101-room Soho Boutique Puerto in Cádiz and the three-star, 74-room Room Select Tetuan in Seville. Spanish operator Room00 Group operates the Madrid and Seville properties, both with city centre locations, while the Cádiz hotel is located in the town of El Puerto de Santa Maria to the north of Cadiz and is operated by Spanish operator Soho Boutique Hotels. Following this transaction, Mazabi retains 17 hotels. In June 2025, Mazabi acquired a new 42-room hotel in San Sebastián’s Monte Igueldo in Spain, as reported in this newsletter.
Travelodge acquires four former Ibis hotels in the UK
British owner-operator Travelodge has acquired four former Ibis hotels (totalling 324 rooms) in the UK. The portfolio includes three hotels in northern England, being the two-star, 82-room Ibis Preston North, the two-star, 78-room Ibis Bradford Shipley, the two-star, 86-room Ibis Chesterfield Centre – Market Town, as well as the two-star, 78-room Ibis Cardiff Gate – International Business Park in Wales. The Preston and Cardiff hotels are located near major motorways, while the Chesterfield property sits in the city centre and the Bradford one in the northern part of the city. Travelodge secured the freehold interest in three of the hotels, while the Cardiff property was acquired under a new 25-year lease. All four hotels will be refurbished to meet Travelodge’s brand standards.
Ona Hotels acquires Be Live Experience Orotava in Tenerife from Globalia
Spanish owner-operator Ona Hotels & Apartments has acquired the four-star, 225-room Be Live Experience Orotava in Tenerife in the Canary Islands in Spain, from the Spanish travel conglomerate Globalia Group. The property is located in Puerto de la Cruz near Playa de Martianez. The hotel features two restaurants, five meeting rooms, and an outdoor pool, and is set to be rebranded as Ona Orotava Garden. As part of the transaction, Ona has acquired the operations of five additional Be Live hotels, two being in Tenerife and the three others in Morocco. Ona plans to invest in these properties over the coming months to reposition them.
Eurostars acquires Hotel Oca Vila de Allariz in Spain
Spanish owner-operator Eurostars Hotel Company has acquired the four-star, 39-room Hotel Oca Vila de Allariz in Spain. The property is situated in the Galicia region in the north-west of Spain, around 120 kms south of Santiago de Compostela. The hotel includes a restaurant, an event room, and a full-service spa. Following the acquisition, the hotel has been rebranded as Eurostars Vila de Allariz Hotel & Balneario. Eurostars plans to further expand its presence in Spain with the opening of the five-star Eurostars Valladolid, scheduled for late 2025.
