Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the appointment of Javier Águila as President of its Inclusive Collection, effective March 1, 2025. In addition to his current role as Group President for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EAME), Águila will now oversee the global all-inclusive portfolio of Hyatt, which includes approximately 55,000 rooms.
The appointment comes in the wake of Hyatt’s recent restructuring efforts, which saw the launch of five distinct brand portfolios and the establishment of a dedicated Lifestyle group. Águila will be responsible for the global all-inclusive business’s development, operations, branding, and commercial performance. He will work closely with various functional teams across the world.
Águila’s portfolio includes 11 brands under the Inclusive Collection, one of which is the Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts. This brand was recently included in the Hyatt portfolio as part of a joint venture with Grupo Piñero, where Águila serves on the Board.
Hyatt’s President & CEO, Mark Hoplamazian, expressed confidence in Águila’s ability to maximize the potential of the Inclusive Collection brands. He cited Águila’s extensive expertise in the all-inclusive sector, his innovative approach, and the growth momentum the EAME region has experienced under his leadership since 2022 as key reasons for his appointment.
Hoplamazian stated that the appointment of dedicated leadership for each brand portfolio solidifies Hyatt’s commitment to cater to the different needs of its guests and customer base. He also noted that Águila’s appointment will further advance Hyatt’s position as a leader in the all-inclusive segment.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation is a global hospitality company headquartered in Chicago. As of September 30, 2024, the company’s portfolio included more than 1,350 hotels and all-inclusive properties in 79 countries across six continents.
