Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa, an all-inclusive beachfront resort situated in the Miches region on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic. The resort is part of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection portfolio and marks an expansion of the Dreams Resorts & Spas brand.
The newly constructed resort features 500 rooms and suites, with options for garden, pool, or oceanfront views. Select suites offer direct swim-out access. The accommodations are equipped with amenities such as spacious bathrooms with rain showers and double vanities.
The resort features ten restaurants and seven bars, providing a diverse range of dining options. Culinary offerings include South American dishes at Tierra, classic Mexican cuisine at El Patio, and reimagined Dominican specialties at 1844 Dominican Cuisine. The resort’s dining venues are part of a shared village-style hub known as the Public Square, which also includes shopping and entertainment options.
Family-friendly amenities at the resort include a water park and three pools, one of which is specifically designed for families. The resort also offers supervised activities for children at the Explorer’s Club for Kids and the Core Zone Teens Club. Additional facilities include a fitness center and the Secrets Spa, which provides massage services and a hydrotherapy circuit.
The resort is located near several natural attractions, including Montaña Redonda, Los Haitises National Park, and Samaná Bay. Guests have access to excursions, including hiking to Salto La Jalda waterfall and kayaking in Laguna Limón.
As part of its commitment to sustainable tourism, the resort has partnered with local organization Promiches to install a protected sea turtle nesting area on its beachfront. This initiative supports the conservation of native sea turtle habitats in the Playa Esmeralda area.
The resort also offers over 15,000 square feet of event space for weddings and other gatherings, including seaside ceremony locations and the Miches Ballroom for receptions or corporate events.
