Hyatt Surpasses 12,000 Opportunity Youth Hires Through RiseHY Program

11 June 20263 Mins Read

In Brief: Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced it has hired more than 12,000 Opportunity Youth globally between 2018 and 2025 through its RiseHY program, surpassing its initial goal of 10,000 hires by the end of 2025 and setting a new target of 15,000 hires by the end of 2028.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation reported that more than 12,000 Opportunity Youth have been hired worldwide through the RiseHY program between 2018 and 2025, exceeding the company’s initial goal of 10,000 hires by the end of 2025. Opportunity Youth are defined by Hyatt as individuals from under-resourced communities who are not currently working, in training, or attending school.

Launched in 2018, RiseHY connects untapped talent to career opportunities in hospitality. The program works with community-based organizations and public-private counterparts to support training, skills development, and employment opportunities across Hyatt’s global portfolio.

In June 2025, Hyatt set a new RiseHY target to hire an additional 5,000 individuals from untapped talent pools, including Opportunity Youth, by the end of 2028. This phase will emphasize retention, progressive skills training, and long-term career mobility.

RiseHY is part of Hyatt’s broader World of Care priorities, which also include the Community Grant Program. Since 2008, Hyatt, Hyatt hotels, and the Hyatt Hotels Foundation have directed more than $7 million to over 300 nonprofits in 54 countries. In 2025, community grants were prioritized across 10 strategic regions.

This week, Hyatt is participating in the closing ceremony of the “Compétences Plus” training program organized by Les Déterminés, a French nonprofit organization. The event marks a milestone in the collaboration between Hyatt hotels in France and Les Déterminés, which has received annual Hyatt Community Grants since 2019. Through this partnership, more than 300 young people have developed new skills and gained access to career opportunities.

Hotels across Hyatt’s global portfolio continue to connect Opportunity Youth with careers in hospitality, including Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas, Grand Hyatt Mumbai in India, Hyatt Regency Chesapeake in the U.S., and Dreams Natura Resort & Spa in Mexico.

At Park Hyatt Marrakech in Morocco, approximately 10 percent of the hotel’s team in 2025 consisted of RiseHY hires. The hotel, supported by the Hyatt Community Grant Program, partners with a local nonprofit to deliver structured training and government-recognized certification programs.

Examples of individual career progression through RiseHY include Doa’a Awwad at Grand Hyatt Amman, who advanced from training to a kitchen team role and was subsequently promoted, and Maria Dangu, who began as an intern at Grand Hyatt Bali, became a full-time colleague, and later joined Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi as Team Leader.

Learn more about the resources Hyatt offers to community-based organizations and businesses to help untapped talent prepare for the workforce and build rewarding, long-term careers in the hospitality industry.
