Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a franchise agreement with PT Lombok Torok Developments to open a new hotel in Lombok, Indonesia. This marks the debut of the Destination by Hyatt brand in Southeast Asia.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation, through an affiliate, has entered into a franchise agreement to develop a new hotel in Lombok, Indonesia. This development, named Samara Lombok, will feature 249 rooms and is part of a larger integrated development project on the island. The hotel is set to open in 2027 and will be the first Destination by Hyatt-branded property in Southeast Asia.

Located in south Lombok, the Samara Lombok project spans over 300 acres and includes two sites: Samara Bay and Samara Hills. The development will offer a variety of facilities, including a wellness village, multiple swimming pools, and more than 10 dining venues. Additionally, the site will feature sports facilities with tennis and padel courts, a marine and water sports center, an educational marine biology center, an organic farm, a sustainability hub, and a dedicated area for children.

Multiple award-winning architects based in Bali are handling the hotel’s design and architecture. They are drawing inspiration from the surrounding paddy fields. Construction of the hotel is already underway.

Lombok, known for its pristine beaches and surf breaks, is accessible by air and sea. The Lombok International Airport is located just 25 minutes away from the development site. The new hotel aims to attract domestic and international travelers by blending local culture and modern amenities.

This new addition to Hyatt’s portfolio in Indonesia will increase its presence in the region, where it currently operates 15 properties across seven different brands. The Samara Lombok project is part of Hyatt’s strategic expansion in Southeast Asia, aiming to capitalize on the growing tourism market in Indonesia and beyond.
