Great Canadian Casino Resort is Toronto’s answer to a wicked casino adventure, all without leaving the city. Tucked right at Hwy 401 and Hwy 427, it’s your spot for good vibes, non-stop excitement, and a totally unique night out.
Lucky for me, I had the chance to experience that high-voltage energy firsthand and enjoy the resort’s top-tier casino games, popular restaurants, and beautiful hotel.
So for a special weekend getaway (and with my boyfriend along for the ride), here’s everything I got up to at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto.
Steakhouse dreams come true
With three restaurants on-site, finding a delicious meal at the Great Canadian Toronto was an easy feat. We opted for The Copperhorn, a steakhouse located right inside the casino.
First things first, appetizers. Half a dozen oysters on the shell were delivered to our table, starting the meal off right. Freshly shucked, these babies were delicious, and I appreciated that the restaurant had wrapped the lemon in a cheesecloth so the seeds wouldn’t pop out when drizzling the oysters.
Extra points were also awarded for the Caesar salad, which was served in an actual cheese bowl! Yes, I did eat the bowl.
The stars of the show, the filet mignons, quickly followed, which were tender and juicy and cooked to the perfect temperature. Served with a steakhouse classic, a loaded baked potato, this meal hit the mark. Overall dining experience? 10/10!
Night of rock and roll

We picked a fantastic night to visit — Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto was hosting rock legends The Tea Party, along with Finger Eleven and Headstones, in its 5,000-seat theatre. And since the theatre is right on-site, we didn’t have to leave the property (or battle the cold) to catch the show.
With amazing seats right in the middle of the crowd, we found our spots and geared up for a night of Canadian rock ’n’ roll. The energy was electric from start to finish — especially when Finger Eleven launched into their classic hit (and my middle-school anthem), Paralyzer.
Let’s just say my neck was sore from all the headbanging. The huge venue was absolutely beautiful and had great acoustics, plus the addition of chairs made it easy to take a breather between acts.
A peaceful slumber
Our hotel room for the night was on the ninth floor, overlooking the Woodbine Racetrack — a view I definitely wasn’t expecting. In the distance, I watched as airplanes took off and landed from Toronto Pearson, adding to the awe-inspiring scene. With the track covered in snow, I was even lucky enough to see a few jockeys and their horses practising.
Another aspect that I was extremely surprised with was how quiet the room was. I was expecting volume from the planes flying and casino buzz, but I didn’t hear any of it at all.
A bit random, but I also have to shout out the bath products from Mother Earth — the peppermint body wash was heavenly!
Casino time

After the show, it was time to visit the casino. Slots were the name of the game that night, with hundreds of dazzling machines calling our names. I instantly gravitated towards a bright machine with a gleaming King Poseidon.
Half of the fun was stumbling upon new slot machines with a theme I had yet to see — dolphins, panda bears, and even a Wicked-theme machine included. The graphics were incredibly impressive and fun, amping up the excitement with flashing lights and celebratory sounds.
The casino seemed endless, with machines and live games filling up the space. To get a better idea, consider that Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto hosts the country’s largest number of gaming options, including 4,800 slot machines and e-tables, as well as 175 live table games.
An epic weekend for the books
This weekend stay at the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto was a true 10/10 adventure. Everything was top-notch, from the beautiful hotel room to the juicy steaks and live shows. The entire complex was beautiful and new, and the staff were helpful and friendly. I can’t emphasize enough how cool it was.
Every adventure was exciting and had something new to experience, plus everyone we met was happy to be part of the vibe! This proves that you don’t have to travel far to have an epic weekend in Toronto.
Even better, Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto is hosting a promotion, The Seasons of Surprises, with over $1 million in SlotPlay giveaways all month long. Plus, there’s a $250,000 SlotPlay grand prize on New Year’s Eve. So if you’re curious to check it out, now’s the time.
