Iconic '80s Rock Band Announces First Headlining UK Tour in 16 Years

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are making a comeback with a series of headlining shows.

This will mark the first UK headline tour in 16 years for the ‘80s rock band.

The legendary guitarist and her band’s shows will span several days in June, kicking off on Thursday, July 2, at the 02 Academy in Glasgow. 

Other stops include Manchester Academy on July 4, 02 Academy in Leeds on July 5, and University of Wolverhampton at the Civic Hall on July 7.

The tour, which will also include special guests The Meffs, will conclude on Wednesday, July 8 at the London British Airways ARC.

“We can’t wait to be back on stage in the UK this Summer! I wrote and recorded “Bad Reputation”, my first solo LP in London. It’s been too long since we’ve been in the UK and we’re excited to see everyone!” Jett stated in the AEG press announcement.

It was also shared on the official Joan Jett Instagram page, with the Instagram Story set to the hit single “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll.”

The tune, released in 1982, hit No. 1 and positioned itself at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for 7 consecutive weeks, becoming one of the biggest songs of the year.

And though Jett’s version is the one that became iconic in the mainstream—eventually getting new life in 2001 by pop sensation Britney Spears—it was actually a cover, originally recorded by The Arrows in 1975. 

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were also confirmed as a supporting act for My Chemical Romance’s 2026 European tour, set to take the stage on July 10, 2026, at Wembley Stadium in London, per NME.

Jett will be on hand to help MCR celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Black Parade.
