Iconic ’90s Singer Looks Unrecognizable From Boy Band Days

18 June 20252 Mins Read

This iconic singer was part of one of the biggest groups of the ‘90s — and helped define the boy band era.

Now 52, 98 Degrees member Justin Jeffre looks nearly unrecognizable from his fresh-faced pop star days, but he’s aging with grace.

In a recent Instagram video, Jeffre proudly showed off his white beard, fully embracing the salt-and-pepper look.

Jeffre and his bandmates, Nick and Drew Lachey, along with Jeff Timmons, have recently reunited, recording new versions of some of their biggest hits.

In the video, posted in June, the group sings “Tremble,” a newer track off their latest album Full Circle, which they’ve been actively promoting for the past few months.

Back in April, Jeffre gave a subtle nod to their past by posting a video from inside a bathtub — the reference didn’t go unnoticed by longtime fans.

Why the tub? It’s a throwback to the band’s 1999 music video for their cover of Mark Wills’ “I Do (Cherish You),” in which Jeffre proposed to a woman relaxing in a bubble bath.

Fans instantly picked up on the reference. One user wrote, “Justin in a bathtub 🛁🤣 definitely accurate!” while another added, “BATHTUB!” with the hashtag #IYKYK.

While fans are thrilled to see the group back together, it’s been a while since they dropped something new (i.e. 2021).

98 Degrees first rose to fame in the mid-to-late ’90s after teaming up with Mariah Carey on “Thank God I Found You,” which earned them a Grammy nomination and a No. 1 spot on the charts.

Their 1997 self-titled debut album put them on the map, but it was 1998’s track “Because of You” that became their breakout hit. “The Hardest Thing” followed soon after, climbing to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning gold certification.

Despite their success, the group disbanded in 2002 and went on a 10-year hiatus before reuniting in 2012.

Now, they’re back — and proving that some pop stars only get better with time.
