It’s been over a decade since the mega-popular Twilight film series took audiences by storm, but “Twi-hards” the world over are still obsessed, as a recent appearance by star Peter Facinelli proved.
In a video shared to TikTok, Facinelli, 51 — who played the famously platinum-haired Carlisle Cullen in the movies — shared a surprising bit of trivia from the first film while speaking on a Galaxy Con panel, and fans on social media were flat-out shocked.

“My hair in the first one was my own hair, and the lady who came on the second movie goes, ‘Your hair, the wig in the last one was terrible,'” Facinelli (whose current short brown ‘do is a far cry from Carlisle’s style) recalled.
“That was my hair!” he continued, going on to share an amusing “fan theory” about why his hair changed from movie to movie.
“I heard a fan theory that was really funny to me, that was because we’re vampires and we’ve died, like hair just fell out, so all of us had to wear wigs, so we kept changing wigs around, just…for fun,” he said, laughing.
“I was like, that’s not right, but it’s really funny,” he added.
Commenters were quick to defend the star’s original look as Carlisle.
“Carlisle hair in Twilight WAS THE BEST HIS HAIR LOOKED,” one person declared, with a second fan agreeing, “His hair was ten times better in the first one than the rest of the movies.”
“His mighty hair being criticized? hold my pearls,” someone joked, with somebody else arguing that Facinelli’s character was “hotter than Edward, that much I can say.”

In an appearance at Mega Con earlier this year, Facinelli shared a behind-the scenes secret involving the scene where Carlisle bites Edward (Robert Pattinson), turning him into a vampire.
“I leaned in the first time, on the first take, and said, ‘I’m sorry.’ ‘Cause I felt like Carlisle didn’t really ask for permission — you should always ask for permission,” he said, as reported by People.
“But on the second take, I leaned in and said, ‘Rob, you’re so handsome,'” Facinelli added. “And then he smiled a little bit. And that’s the take that’s in the movie.”
