If you didn’t manage to get a table for this $90 Queen West chicken collab, you’re not alone, Canada Reviews

30 July 20262 Mins Read

Toronto chicken lovers are in for a flavour-packed collaborative dinner this August (though you’ll have to move fast to get a seat at the table!). Taverne Bernhardt’s is teaming up with its Queen West neighbour, Jamil’s Chaat House, for a Punjabi Poulet feast taking place at Bernhardt’s on Monday, Aug. 17, at 5 p.m.

All guests will be served a four-course, family-style set menu featuring snacks, appetizers, a main course with scrumptious sides and dessert. And, as expected from a collab at one of Toronto’s best-known rotisserie restaurants, chicken will take centre stage, but this time prepared with a signature Jamil’s twist!

The experience costs $90 per guest (not including drinks, tax or tip) and a selection of wines just perfect for the meal will be available by the glass and bottle.

As of publication, the dining room, bar and patio seatings are all sold out, but you can sign up to be notified if a reservation becomes available.

In the meantime, head to Bernhardt’s on Dovercourt Rd. for its ever-changing menu of elevated deli-style sandwiches, nationally sourced rotisserie chicken, seasonal sides and comforting extras like local veggies, potatoes, coleslaw, pickles, buns and gravy. Bonus: the restaurant has a wine list that would feel right at home on the patios of Calabria!

Jamil’s Chaat House (1086 Queen St. W.) serves unconventional Pakistani dishes designed to be shared, along with natural wines and South Asian-inspired cocktails. The space is straightforward and minimalist, and the menu is mainly vegetarian, with a curated collection of generational Pakistani recipes executed by head chef Eric MacDonald. Chaat, a popular category of savoury snacks in South Asian cuisine, is the star of the restaurant, alongside other Pakistani-inspired small plates and mains, like dahi puri, pulled chicken buns, karahi chicken and beef kebabs.

Punjabi Poulet takes place on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, at 5 p.m. at Taverne Bernhardt’s, 202 Dovercourt Rd. Reservations and notifications for available spots can be made through Resy.
