IHCL Signs a Deal for New Resort in Pench, Boosting its Presence in Madhya Pradesh

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new resort in Pench, Madhya Pradesh, which is in line with its strategy to expand in high-potential tourism corridors.

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new resort in Pench, Madhya Pradesh. This strategic move is a greenfield project branded as a Gateway resort, contributing to IHCL’s expansion plan in areas with significant tourism potential.

Ms. Suma Venkatesh, the Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development at IHCL, made the announcement. She expressed delight in partnering with Mr. Abhijit Mujumdar on the project, citing Pench’s status as a key national park and the rising demand for quality hospitality services in the region.

The Gateway Pench will be located near the Maharashtra border, offering an authentic reflection of the location and embodying the spirit of Pench. The resort will be spread across over 10 acres and feature various culinary options, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar, a pool bar, and meeting venues. In addition, guests can unwind at the spa, rejuvenate at the fitness center, and use the swimming pool.

Mr. Abhijit Mujumdar, Managing Director of Abhijit Realtors and Infraventures Pvt Ltd., expressed excitement over the partnership with IHCL. He looks forward to offering an immersive hospitality experience in the region. Mr. Sanket Bawankule, the Director of Shree Jagdamba Construction Pvt. Ltd., praised the collaboration, stating that the hotel would enhance the region’s offerings.

Pench, located in the Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh, is popularly known as the ‘Mowgli Pench Sanctuary,’ drawing inspiration from Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will operate 15 hotels in Madhya Pradesh, six of which are currently under development.
