Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced plans to develop a new Taj hotel in Mohali, Punjab, marking a strategic expansion in the region.
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed an agreement to develop a new Taj hotel in Mohali, Punjab. The project is a greenfield development, set to increase the company’s presence in the state.
The upcoming Taj Mohali will feature 225 rooms and will provide views of the surrounding greenery. The hotel will include several dining options, such as an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, and a specialty restaurant. Leisure and wellness facilities will consist of a swimming pool, a gym, a health club, and the brand’s J Wellness Circle.
The hotel will also offer significant event space, with over 26,000 square feet of banqueting space. This will position the hotel as a major venue for weddings, corporate functions, and social gatherings in the region.
Mohali, a planned city in Punjab, is known for its modern infrastructure and is home to numerous IT companies, educational institutions, and sports facilities. The city’s growth as an IT and commercial hub is a key factor in IHCL’s decision to expand its presence in the area.
This new development will increase IHCL’s portfolio in Punjab to 14 hotels, with seven currently under development. The project aligns with the company’s strategy to expand in high-potential markets.
