IHG Hotels & Resorts debuts its collection brand, Vignette Collection, in Japan with the rebranding of RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka.
IHG Hotels & Resorts has officially launched its Vignette Collection in Japan. The RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka, a city’s well-known historical hotel, has been rebranded as the first Japanese member of IHG’s Vignette Collection.
Located in Nakanoshima, known as the “City of Water,” the RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka symbolizes Osaka’s vibrant 24-hour international city life. Established in 1935, the hotel has been a hub for international and cultural exchanges, hosting foreign dignitaries, imperial families, and renowned VIPs.
The remodeled RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka, Vignette Collection, now boasts over 1,000 renovated rooms, including a remarkable 700-meter suite. The hotel also features 18 unique restaurants and bars, a fitness center, and comprehensive event facilities with 56 banquet rooms. Renowned Japanese fashion designer Junko Koshino designed the new uniforms for hotel staff.
The hotel’s grand opening was marked with a unique take on the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony. The ceremony featured a Japanese tenugui hand towel dyed using the traditional Osaka “Chusen” technique. It symbolized the forging of a lasting partnership between the RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka and IHG Hotels & Resorts.
Abhijay Sandilya, Managing Director – Japan & Micronesia for IHG Hotels & Resorts, stated, “RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka perfectly embodies Vignette Collection, a brand that is on track to achieve 100 hotels globally within its first decade.”
