IHG Hotels & Resorts has reported considerable growth across its Luxury and lifestyle portfolio. The division now makes up 20% of the company’s overall global pipeline, nearly double the percentage from five years prior. The portfolio currently includes more than 900 hotels in operation and under development, with over 260 located in the Americas.
Leanne Harwood, SVP, Managing Director, Luxury & Lifestyle Brands Americas at IHG, stated that the company’s significant progress in expanding its six Luxury & Lifestyle brands across the Americas has been recognized by owners, guests, and the industry. This progress includes debuts such as Regent Santa Monica Beach and three new U.S. projects under the Six Senses brand.
Six Senses marked its regional debut last year with the opening of Six Senses La Sagesse in Grenada. The brand continues to grow, with two U.S. locations slated to open in 2028: Six Senses Telluride in Colorado and Six Senses Riverstone Estate in Pennsylvania. Six Senses joined IHG in 2019 and currently operates 27 hotels worldwide, with another 43 in the pipeline.
IHG recently strengthened its Luxury & Lifestyle team with the appointment of Raj Khubchandani as its new Vice President of Hotel Operations, Luxury & Lifestyle Brands, for the Americas region. Khubchandani brings a wealth of experience from various roles at leading global hotel companies and brands.
Several Luxury & Lifestyle Americas leadership team members have been recognized with industry awards. These include Harwood, who was named one of Hotel Management’s 2024 “Influential Women in Hospitality”, Ave Bradley, who was inducted into Hospitality Design’s 2024 “HD Platinum Circle”, and Scott Gingerich, whose team delivered exceptional experiences at the Ladyhawk by Charbel Hayek restaurant at Kimpton La Peer Hotel.
To further improve hotel performance and owner returns, IHG continues to invest in its enterprise platform and the IHG Hotels & Resorts masterbrand. Nearly 70% of American room nights are now booked through its IHG One Rewards loyalty program. The program offers exclusive experiences to loyal guests, such as access to the U.S. Open Tennis Championships and Major League Soccer matches.
