IHG Hotels & Resorts announced a franchise agreement with YB Group for the development of a Holiday Inn Express in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The 100-room hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028. This development is part of IHG’s strategy to expand its presence in high-demand markets across India.
The new Holiday Inn Express will be located on the outskirts of BKC, a major commercial district in Mumbai known for housing corporate headquarters, consulates, and cultural venues. The area also features hotels, dining options, and shopping centers. The hotel aims to serve international and domestic business delegates, MICE visitors, and leisure travelers.
This upcoming property will be the third Holiday Inn Express under development by IHG in Mumbai, joining projects in Andheri-Kurla Road and Powai. Additionally, IHG plans to open a voco hotel in Mumbai by mid-2026. The company’s current operational portfolio in the city includes the InterContinental Marine Drive Mumbai and Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport.
Holiday Inn Express is IHG’s largest and fastest-growing brand, with over 3,200 hotels worldwide.
IHG currently operates 51 hotels across six brands in India, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express. The company has a pipeline of 80 hotels set to open in the next three to five years.
