IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a new InterContinental hotel in Manchester, UK, set to open by 2027.

IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its UK portfolio with the addition of the InterContinental Manchester – Deansgate. The hotel, owned by Blue Manchester Hotel Limited, will undergo a rebranding process and is expected to be fully operational under the new name by 2027. During the transition, the hotel will continue to welcome guests.

The new InterContinental will be located in Manchester’s Beetham Tower, occupying 22 floors of the 47-storey building, one of the tallest structures outside of London. The hotel will feature 264 guestrooms, all offering views of the Manchester skyline. It will also include a large ground floor bar and restaurant, an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and fitness center. Additionally, the hotel will have 18 meeting rooms with a total event space of 1,821 square meters.

Strategically situated on Deansgate, one of Manchester’s most historic streets, the hotel will benefit from its proximity to high-end dining, retail outlets, and vibrant nightlife. It is also close to Manchester’s main conference center and Spinningfields, the city’s premier financial and professional services district.

This new addition will mark the fifth InterContinental property in IHG’s UK and Ireland portfolio, joining existing locations in London and Dublin. Currently, IHG operates 363 hotels in the UK and Ireland, with an additional 33 properties under development.
