IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open a new InterContinental hotel in Prague’s Old Town, with the property expected to open in the first half of 2029.
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement to open a new InterContinental hotel in Prague, marking the brand’s return to the Czech capital. The 137-room hotel is set to open in the first half of 2029 and will be located at Jeruzalemska 8, Prague 1, in a historic building managed by Generali Real Estate.
The building, which dates back to 1839, has previously served various purposes, including a dance hall, theatre, and office space. It is situated in Prague’s Old Town, close to the main Railway Station and several notable city attractions such as Charles Bridge and Old Town Square. Generali Real Estate will manage the renovation project.
The new InterContinental Prague will feature a luxury spa with a wellness area and pool, a bar, a restaurant, and the brand’s signature Club InterContinental lounge. The property will also include a private garden and conference facilities, catering to both leisure and business travelers.
This development is part of IHG’s strategy to expand its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in Europe. The company currently operates 34 InterContinental hotels across Europe, with the Prague location joining other properties in Central and Eastern Europe, including those in Sofia, Warsaw, Bucharest, and Budapest.
The hotel will be the third IHG property in Prague, joining the existing Holiday Inn Prague Congress Centre and Holiday Inn Prague Airport.
