IHG to Rebrand Two Hotels in Japan in 2026

Two hotels to convert to Holiday Inn and join the IHG system in 2026. First international branded hotels in Sanda and Tosu City.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced an agreement with FET SYSTEM INC to convert two hotels in Japan to the ANA Holiday Inn brand. The properties, currently operating as The Celecton Premier Kobe Sanda Hotel and Hotel Bientos, will undergo renovations before reopening as ANA Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda and ANA Holiday Inn Tosu in 2026.

The ANA Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda will feature 130 rooms and is located 40 kilometers north of Kobe City. The area is known for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and golfing. The hotel will include meeting and event spaces, catering to both corporate and leisure guests.

The ANA Holiday Inn Tosu, with 126 rooms, is situated in Saga Prefecture, approximately 30 kilometers from Fukuoka City. The hotel is positioned to attract corporate guests due to the region’s strong manufacturing industry. It is located five minutes from Tosu Station and is in proximity to local shops, restaurants, and attractions.

These conversions are part of IHG’s strategy to expand its Holiday Inn brand in Japan, adding to its existing portfolio of 15 Holiday Inn hotels, both operational and in the pipeline, across the country. The rebranding will incorporate Holiday Inn’s signature Open Lobby concept, along with other brand hallmarks.

IHG’s global portfolio includes 1,241 open Holiday Inn hotels and 273 in the pipeline. The company continues to see high demand for quick-to-market conversions to its brands, with conversions accounting for a significant portion of its openings and signings in early 2025.

The addition of these two hotels will further IHG’s presence in Japan, where it currently operates 54 hotels across 10 brands, with 17 more in development.
