The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the country’s leading hospitality firm, has declared plans to establish a new resort in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. This fresh venture will operate under the company’s Gateway brand.
IHCL’s Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development, Suma Venkatesh, made the announcement. She highlighted Prayagraj’s cultural and religious significance as a potent draw for pilgrims and leisure travelers. Venkatesh also noted that the initiative aligns with IHCL’s strategy to infiltrate emerging markets in Tier II and III cities. Their collaboration with Ecavo Hospitality Limited is vital in realizing this project.
The Gateway Prayagraj will have 150 rooms, and its design will amalgamate modern aesthetics with local architectural elements. Diverse dining choices will be available to guests, including an all-day diner, bar, specialty restaurant, and lounge. A cutting-edge gym, swimming pool, and spa will cater to fitness and relaxation needs. The resort will also offer a banquet space of over 5,000 square feet, suitable for both social and business events.
Ecavo Hospitality Private Limited’s Managing Director, Abhishek Gupta, expressed enthusiasm over the partnership with IHCL, stating that the new hotel will provide an unmatched experience for local and international visitors.
Prayagraj, formerly known as Allahabad, is internationally recognized for hosting the esteemed Kumbh Mela, attracting millions of global pilgrims. The city also grows as a corporate hub, housing the Allahabad High Court and multiple educational institutions.
