InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has officially opened its first property in Brisbane, marking the brand’s debut in the city. The new hotel is situated on Elizabeth Street within the Queen Street Mall luxury shopping precinct, offering 319 rooms across 25 floors.

The property offers guests a range of amenities, including an outdoor lap pool, a gymnasium, and the Latitude 27 Bar & Kitchen, which serves as both the hotel’s all-day restaurant and lobby bar.

The hotel features 19 meeting rooms and one of Brisbane’s largest event ballrooms. Additionally, the Club InterContinental lounge, located on the 25th floor, offers stunning city views and exclusive services for Club guests, including personalized check-in, twilight drinks, and complimentary breakfast.

A significant renovation is planned to begin in 2026, focusing on enhancing the guest experience while maintaining the architectural heritage of the building, originally designed by modernist architect Harry Seidler. This transformation is part of a broader vision by developer ISPT to revitalize the Elizabeth Street area into a hub for tourism, entertainment, and dining.

The opening of InterContinental Brisbane expands the brand’s presence in Queensland, joining other properties such as InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef and InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort on the Gold Coast. The addition of the Brisbane location is part of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts’ strategy to strengthen its footprint in the region, particularly in the lead-up to the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics in Brisbane.

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, which operates 69 hotels across Australasia under various brands, including Six Senses, Kimpton, and Crowne Plaza. The group has 26 additional properties in its development pipeline in the region.

Rooms at InterContinental Brisbane start at AUD$319 per night, and bookings can be made through the IHG website. The hotel is located at 190 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane City.
