Jack Black Addresses Elle Fanning’s Boyfriend After She Calls Him 'Sex on Legs'

In case anyone missed it, Elle Fanning recently sat down with her sister Dakota Fanning for Vanity Fair’s lie detector test and casually reminded the internet that she finds Jack Black… extremely hot. Like, “the hottest man I’ve ever seen in my life” hot. Like “sex on legs” hot. The moment instantly went viral — and now, Jack Black himself is weighing in, with a message specifically for Elle’s boyfriend, Gus Wenner.

On Saturday, December 13, Sony Pictures dropped a TikTok featuring Black during press for the studio’s upcoming Anaconda reboot with Paul Rudd. The two were seated side by side when the 27-year-old Maleficent star’s now-infamous comments inevitably came up.

“Have you ever heard of body dysmorphia?” Black, 56, asked, before explaining that while most people look in the mirror and see flaws that aren’t really there, Elle might have the opposite problem. “She looks at me — which objectively is a goblin gremlin — and she sees this gorgeous creature,” he joked, dubbing it “goblin dysmorphia.”

Visibly flattered, Black said, “I appreciate it, but I have to close my eyes because I can’t quite process what I’m hearing there. But thank you, Elle.” Then he turned his attention to Wenner, 35. “And to the boyfriend, dude — we got no beef. We’re cool,” he said. “I didn’t do nothing to deserve this attention.”

For context, Elle has been dating the Rolling Stone executive since 2023. The two went public in early 2024, making their red carpet debut at the Golden Globes.

Still, her admiration for the Kung Fu Panda actor runs deep. Back in December 2024, she told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that she and her friends have a group chat dedicated entirely to how attractive Black is. She also revealed that her boyfriend was well aware of her crush, joking that Black was her “hall pass.”

As for Black, he’s been married to artist and musician Tanya Haden since 2006. The couple share two sons, Samuel, 19, and Thomas, 17. They first knew each other as classmates at Crossroads School in Santa Monica before reconnecting years later at a mutual friend’s birthday party, when neither was seeing anyone.

On Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert in 2024, Black said Haden made the first move — offering her number and asking him to dinner — describing the moment as, “Heaven opened up above my head, because it was like, this is the thing that I would always want to happen.”
