While Jelly Roll has lost almost 200 pounds already, his health and fitness journey is far from over — but fans might be surprised to learn what’s really motivating him to keep going.
During his Thursday, April 24 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 40-year-old musician opened up about the reason why he’s hoping to drop even more pounds after losing “an entire Jimmy Kimmel,” as he put it.

“For the non-fluffy people in the world, I would give y’all some educational course here — to do all the fun stuff in life, you’ve got to be under 250,” Jelly said. “I want to skydive, I want to ride a roller coaster. I want to ride a bull.”
“I know it sounds crazy,” he admitted. “I want to wrestle an alligator. I’ve got a list of things that I want to do.”
Kimmel had a hard time wrapping his head around Jelly’s revelation.
“So let me get this straight: You do all this hard work and you have all this discipline losing all this weight, and then you want to do something that will potentially kill you?” the host asked.
“Ain’t that great?!” Jelly quipped, adding, “Listen, I was waiting on the heart disease to do it so I might as well get it off and run straight into it the other way.”
Kimmel went on to give Jelly an even wilder suggestion.
“Have you ever considered wrestling the alligator while you skydive?” he asked.
“That’ll be my plus-one,” Jelly shot back.
The “Son of a Sinner” artist also talked about his super practical (if not particularly “cool”) approach to weight loss.
“Dude, listen. I’ve been thinking about ways to make it sound cool, but I can’t. I’m eating a lot of protein and vegetables and walking. That’s what I’m doing,” he explained.
