Jenna Bush Hager just teased “big news” on Today, and fans of the NBC morning show think they know what it is.
On Monday, Sept. 8, the former first daughter and Today With Jenna & Friends host took to Instagram with a cryptic message for her followers.

“Guys, I’m so excited because tomorrow, I have big news for you,” Bush Hager said in the video. “And I cannot wait for you to know what it is. One more day!”
In the comments, Today fans speculated about what the news might be, with many hoping it’s an announcement revealing a new permanent co-host for Bush Hager. Many predicted and hoped that Bush Hager would announce a new co-host on the Tuesday, Sept. 9 episode of Today With Jenna & Friends. Ever since Hoda Kotb left the show in January, a rotating roster of co-hosts has filled in for the fourth hour of the morning show—and it seems like fans are ready for a more permanent arrangement.

“New co-host?” one Instagram user speculated.
Another follower declared, “Sheinelle [Jones] as your cohost!!!!!”
Someone else echoed, “Shenelle will be your permanent cohost? It makes sense so she could take her kids to school in the morning.”
A different fan agreed, writing, “Sheinelle! Been waiting for this announcement.”
On Friday, Sept. 4, Jones returned to the third hour of Today after a nine-month hiatus leading up to and following the death of her husband, Uche Ojeh, in May.

Meanwhile, others had the same thought about Bush Hager’s mystery news—just not necessarily Jones as the person to take over the co-hosting role.
One Instagram user wrote, “Please be a permanent co-host. PLEASE,” as someone else commented, “Willy [Geist] to cohost?”
Another fan suggested, “Justine!!!!! Or Willy. Please,” as someone else commented, “Is Hoda going to come back?”
Yet another Instagram follower wrote, “It’s a co host. Donna [Farizan] left because she didn’t get it.”
On Monday, Sept 8, Farizan, a Jenna & Friends contributor, announced her departure after 12 years. The official Jenna & FriendsInstagram account celebrated Farizan’s time with the program, writing, “Today we say goodbye to our incredible friend, Donna. She’s brought us joy, heart, and unforgettable stories. Wishing her nothing but success and love on her next chapter. 💛.”

Still other Instagram users suspected Bush Hager might announce news about her book club, with one writing, “Another Book….”
A second commented, “It’s probably something to do with her book club or some kind of movie she’s gonna be in or produce or something.”
It looks like Today viewers will have to tune into Tuesday’s episode to find out what Bush Hager’s “big news” is. We can’t wait to learn what’s up her sleeves!
