Job Posting – Ticket Office Assistant
To apply, go to: [email protected] and direct your resume/CV and Cover Letter to the Manager, Sales & Marketing.

Alberta Theatre Projects (ATP) is in its 51st season (2025–2026) of producing live, professional, contemporary theatre in Calgary. ATP is a not-for-profit organization known for supporting new play development.

At ATP, we create world-class contemporary theatre that blurs the line between the audience and the artist, by telling the most provocative and engaging stories of our time. By embracing the intimacy and unique audience configuration opportunities of the Martha Cohen Theatre, we offer an exciting new experience for our audience with each production.

About the position
Reporting to the Manager – Sales & Marketing, this is a part-time position with shifts occurring during evenings and weekends when there is a production on stage; with occasional hours in the administration office during the day.

You’ll work independently as the only ticketing professional for the shows you’re scheduled for, offering a friendly and helpful experience to patrons picking up tickets, buying tickets, or inquiring about anything related to their purchases.

You will also work in the administrative office to help with sales strategies managed by the Ticket Office; assist patrons with ticketing inquiries over the phone and provide other organizational support.

This position requires a flexible work schedule due to the operational needs of ATP and events taking place, including frequent evening, weekend, and holiday work.
We can’t wait to welcome an energetic and collaborative person that can easily integrate into a culture that thrives on kindness and excellence.

Responsibilities
· Assisting patrons in person with ticketing requests of all types
· Maintaining positive relations with the public through the delivery of exceptional customer service
· Selling subscriptions and gift cards in the lobby during intermission
· Liaising with Front-of-House staff to answer patron queries and resolve seating issues
· Participating in outbound calling on our telemarketing sales campaigns
· Maintaining accurate information in our ticketing and database software
· Providing support to the department with various organizational duties
· Other duties as assigned

Job requirements:
· Strong organizational skills necessary to prioritize and manage concurrent initiatives
· Strong attention to detail and a high degree of self-motivation
· The ability to work both independently and within a team
· Previous experience in sales will be a strong asset for this role
· Experience on ticketing software is an asset, but training will be provided
· An appreciation for the arts and for theatre
· Enthusiastic team player with excellent interpersonal skills
· Must possess the ability to solve patron concerns as they arise and communicate well with a wide range of patrons and volunteers
· Must be comfortable and productive in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
· Must be well organized, decisive, and have good follow-through skills
· A professional demeanor and experience/ability in dealing with discerning patrons

The successful candidate must be available for a minimum of 2-3 shifts per week during each production throughout the season (see our current season production schedule here). These positions are flexible, part-time, and shift based, and require weekend and evening work during the run of a production.

What we can offer
This is a part-time casual position starting at $18.00/hour, with a flexible schedule.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Our commitment to DE&I is woven into our belief that our organization is strongest when we embrace the lived experiences of our community, regardless of what we look like, where we come from, or whom we love. That means building a more equitable, inclusive workplace and promoting daily actions that reinforce our DE&I commitment to the audiences we serve.

Application Process
Alberta Theatre Projects is committed to reflecting the diversity of our community. We believe in equality and inclusion and strongly encourage submissions from all qualified individuals regardless of gender, age, race, sexual orientation, and physical ability. We also encourage you to self-identify as you are comfortable in your application. If you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please let us know in your application.

Please contact: [email protected] and direct your resume/CV and Cover Letter to Manager, Sales & Marketing.
Thank you to all applicants. Only those selected for interviews will be contacted. No phone calls, or in-person visits please.
