Joe Biden, 82, Undergoing Radiation for ‘Aggressive’ Prostate Cancer

11 October 20252 Mins Read

Former President Joe Biden is entering a new phase of his cancer treatment, as confirmed by his office.

Biden’s team revealed Saturday, October 11, that he is now undergoing a five-week course of radiation therapy in addition to the hormone medication he’s already been taking, perNBC News. A spokesperson noted to The New York Post that the 82-year-old is “doing well,” as this regimen joins other measures in his cancer care plan.

In May, Biden’s post-presidential office disclosed that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, one that had already metastasized to his bones.

Back in September, a spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE that Biden had undergone Mohs surgery, a specialized procedure that removes skin cancer cells layer by layer while preserving healthy tissue. The news came after footage surfaced of him leaving a Delaware church with a visible wound on his forehead. It marked at least his second skin cancer treatment — he previously had a basal cell carcinoma removed from his chest in February 2023 while still in the White House.

Biden, who turns 83 next month, dropped out of the 2024 presidential race against President Donald Trump, deciding not to seek reelection following concerns about his health and debate-stage performance during the campaign.

Trump, for his part, underwent his “semi-annual” physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. According to the White House physician, Trump received his COVID and flu vaccines ahead of his upcoming trip to the Middle East and remains in “exceptional health,” per The Post.
